Dances For Elsewhere (2017)

A choreography across a colonial border, time, and geography, Dances For Elsewhere is a Skype collaboration between Alexa Mardon and Raha Behnam. Working long distance under precarious conditions: financially as an independent artist, and an undocumented, Iranian born immigrant, our project asks: where is the dance? is the internet medium, material, or archive? How are we choreographed by the distances that separate us? For Elsewhere was most recently presented at Performance Studies International conference in Hamburg, Germany in June 2017.
